Michal enjoys making films for women... Is he some kind of...you know... ?Filmy dla Kobiet poster

It took me a long time, but I have learned to sacrifice my own interests. It wasn't easy. The key is learning how to listen. Once I could consider somebody else's needs as if they were my own, it became a lot easier to meet those needs - despite the heavy costs.Pointer

I'm learning how to listen to women - even if sometimes they say terrible things. I'd like to give everyone a chance to do the same.

I've decided to export fine art handcrafted by women in Poland to America. High quality handcrafted art produced by high quality women deserves to be shared. The more I can sell stateside to people who know the difference, the more I can buy from those whose worthy hands continue the fight for openness and equality, a fight that I'm taking to the world wide web.

Your support ensures that films for women will make a difference.

Chapter 7: A Proper Man

Janina contrasts the many marriages of a famous Polish actor who came from Lwów, the cultural capital of what is now western Ukraine, with the way her own father and mother met, married, and lived in the small town of Trembowla throughout the decades of growth and depression up until the second World War.

Author's Note: I have been enjoined from sharing the details of my true romance adventure until such time that the other party is prepared to present her perspective on the affair arrangement...Pointer

In June of 2011 I arrived in Europe for what I hoped would be a great adventure; my only concrete plan, to visit Croatia. By September I had driven 6,000 miles and visited 12 different countries, all with a woman I met on the first Friday of my trip.

I had come to Europe to document people practicing naturism. Preliminary arrangements had been made to meet with an Egyptian nudist visiting the Continent and there was some kind of Pan-European gathering scheduled to take place in Croatia. I had arranged for an assistant to come along with me to help with anything I needed, but when her passport was stolen the night before we were supposed to leave, my plans went awry. I decided on something less ambitious. I would visit a naturist sauna in the city of Bielsko-Biala, Poland which I had just found on the internet. When I got there, I met Margo.

I was American. Freshly arrived in Europe and the new owner of a '97 Ford Escort made in Germany. The only thing I had to complain about was the fact that the owner's manual was in German. She was from Poland, and a German-language owner's manual for a car bought in Poland wasn't the only thing she had to complain about. Something as small as that didn't even register.

Margo and I spent over 40 days on the road. We started out as basically strangers, but in those 40 days we started listening to each other. We started teaching ourselves how to cooperate. Our journey across Europe may have ended, but our journey towards each other continues. No amount of fear, anger, sadness, disgust or anticipation can stop hope. Slowly but surely, we're learning how to beat the devils that abuse us.

a collection of modern art prints and posters

During our trip across Europe, Margo very bravely opened up to me and to the camera. It was a difficult thing to do considering the scars that she carries. I wanted to share with the world her often joyful, often sad, often angry but always liberating experience except that the Internet is full of pictures of naked women and men and full of trolls who abuse them.

I realized that what I really need to point out is not the openness that Margo and I cultivated between ourselves, but the darkness that continues to surround us. When I censor nudity, I do so in a way that does not compromise the integrity of the human body. In censoring the photographs that Margo and I took during our trip, I was quick to notice that in those pictures where Margo was at her most open, at her most unguarded and most relaxed, in a word, when she was herself and basking in the sun I was forced to blacken her completely.

Why does our society drive people into darkness? Why can we not accept ourselves as we are? Why can we not accept our bodies? Have we truly become eunuchs? Or are we capable of defying the sickness that pits us against each other? Together we could conquer the devils that abuse us.

Whether you enjoy being nude or not, whether you've been photographed nude or not, but especially if, for you, like for Margo, it's something you never thought you would do, consider submitting your own photograph to be published in a censored manner as a form of protest against the ubiquitous presence of the human body on the internet, naked or not, that is published and duplicated ad infinitum without context and without regard for the identity or the needs of the individual being depicted.

Michal's Dictionary:
Hope Technology

Love and hope. I say the words and I still wonder what it means.

I think of all the images, the poems, the quotes, the songs, the stories. The symbols.

I think of my own work, the Fiction Corpus, which I tested and analyzed because I too wanted to know what it was about. Sure enough, the words love and hope were two of the most frequent words I had used.

Clearly love and hope are a potent fuel. They've driven many a work of art. The've helped create many beautiful things. Maybe that's it.

Use of Hope in The Gospel of Jesus H.

A picture of the planet Mars

An experimental science fiction Christology that makes Jesus the hard boiled narrator of his own early years on a bizarro earth made dark by volcanic ash and informally ruled by a man from Mars who sells bottled air.

"It means," said Jesus, "that the Devil bides with hope that faith and love will die. Fear not. Be as patient as he is."

Verse 102 from the chapter called Vows

Oh Bartolomeo! Maestro da canne! For whom the Republic of Venice gave thanks! You gave hope to the weak and weary! More strength to the strong! A lifeline for Freedom! A slicker noose for the wrong! You gave both cold and hot, forward and back; a wife to the tyrant, and life to the revolutionary son; fear to the many, and rule to the one. You were indifferent. As long as people paid, you made guns. If not for you, what would've happened? Somebody else would've taken your smoky rank in the annals of industry: grandfather of arms! You gave your descendents an unparalleled legacy: your long and hard barrels, shooting with unflinching consistency, ensured over the centuries that your plant would not be torn from your family's hands. Berettas live on! They still make their weapons! They sell them! So don't be surprised that Jesus tried the same.

Verse 15 from the chapter called Arms

"Who knows?"

"I hope it's not before August."

Verses 971-972 from the chapter called Bohemia

You are my only hope, child. You are my knowledge. You are living proof that my life was not lived in vain. You must listen to me: I have much to say, much to tell you. Your grandfather has given me this chance. God bless your grandfather! He is a tyrant, but I bless him. I only hope he doesn't censor too much. I must be careful. Your grandfather doesn't trust me. Why should he? I am a desperate man: at death's door, I smell it: death: tissue: dying: spinning.

Verse 10 from the chapter called Invocation

Up till then, many voices - in fact, all of the voices from the upper echelons - had demanded that Jesus surrender. When the Martian story broke, everything changed. Panic acceded. Talk of a Martian take-over murmured itself on the lips of those who previously had looked on Jesus with skepticism. No longer was Jesus an upstart who some people claimed had escaped from the zoo. He was right: there were dangerous things afoot, which didn't make him Buddha but at least convinced some people to accept at least the possibility that Jesus was indeed the last hope.

Verse 425 from the chapter called Arms

Use of Hope in Sex for Children

A drawing of a man between a woman's legs in front of another man in a hospital bed

A literature book narrated by a pair of siblings on either side of the Atlantic whose profoundly weird sexual experiences pose a serious challenge to their traditional understanding of mathematicians, marriage, gay young men and God.

I know that I've always been playful, which is something that a modest person does not usually reveal until well acquainted with another. Perhaps it was the misguided intimacy - the forceful breach of inhibition - that tightened and then relaxed our excited bodies. I suppose not everyone enjoys being playful, but I believe that boy was thrilled, and perhaps he, thinking me a student, sincerely hoped for another, less ephemeral encounter. But I knew it would not happen, and he, poor fool, may have dreamt of it last night. I certainly have had dreams on less hopeful prospects. How odd it is, how strangely odd, that the basis for romance and friendship must seem so fantastically random, and the requirements which permit these things to blossom, the structure of tastes and considerations, being so irrationally determined, or else so deliberately particular, how odd indeed that any relationship take strong root and thrive at all.

– Title 1, Regarding Peaches and Bananas, Part 2, Section 3, Ambushing a Man, Paragraph 3

The police were too busy setting people apart; they were not interested in bringing them together. But, hopefully, Nike could use this to his advantage. How could they know that he was the happiest man ever to grace their prison cells? They were oblivious to love. They were mechanicals - intelligent and tough-skinned beasts, some more intelligent than others, of course, but all of them insensible. They walked about on cloven-feet - even toed, perhaps, but heavy-handed.

– Title 3, Regarding a Dream, Chapter 3, The Third Day, Part 1, Family & Welfare Reform, Section 4, Falling in Love, Paragraph 3

We were seated close to the window by the corner. Next to us, an ugly man was drinking with an equally ugly woman who kept giving me nasty looks for the whole evening. I don't think we were being loud. In fact, we were so hushed, we might as well have been whispering. But that doesn't mean we weren't having a very enthusiastic argument.

ANDY: So why are we having dinner?

Bullets whizzing by a statue of Nikola Tesla

A collection of stories featuring a sexy Parisian ghost, a spooky Moon base full of vagina-faced aliens, a policeman with an Irish name, a truck full of watermelons, a flautist, and a man who has to see another man about a diseased horse.

Bo closed her eyes. Those men were gone. The joy, the anguish, the hope and the sorrow they inspired had followed her through the cold dimensions of space. She had once thought she had no choice but to cling to them. Now she could sense them fading away.

Kwon arrived with happy news. Do was delivered of a baby boy. "Congratulations," said Bo. She smiled. There were now twelve again.

– from “How Tae & Bo Took Over the World and Kung & Fu Didn't,” an apocryphal bible story featuring a frank discussion of what government really is

"She ran away." The girl pulled a picture of her sister from her pocket. "I show this to everybody in case they see her." Shephard admired the photo. "Her name is Pepsi."

"She's not as beautiful as you," said Shephard, "but close. I hope that's not why she left."

– from “Two Dudes and a Chinese Desert,” a friendship story featuring hopeless people

"I didn't want you to fall in front of the villagers. You want to impress them. If I had taken you straight into the desert, you might have been thrown onto the sand. I might not have heard you. The last thing you would have seen before dying of exposure would have been a camel's toe. Is that what you want? To almost make it?"

"You're right," said Clark. "I'm not a ladies' man. I'm comfortable in groups. I split bills. I sweat. I iron my socks."

– from “Two Dudes and a Chinese Desert,” a friendship story featuring hopeless people

Junior bought a professional hip adduction machine. Within days, Harry Connick had mastered it. Junior attached ropes to his feet. Nyota pulled one way; Ann Taylor, the other. The mild-mannered accountant made both women fall forward. "Sorry," he said. "I-uh-I hope you ladies didn't bruise your knees."

– from “A Horse Named Clutch Bag,” an inspiring story featuring rich people

They crossed to the far side of the nearest field. They shadowed the road north. Clark wondered why they hadn't just kept driving.

Shephard explained, "I wanted you to practice your camel-riding before taking you into the desert. You're not used to mounting an animal with two humps."

Clark scoffed. "It's better when they don't smell like stale pee."

"Let's hope the next one doesn't."

"Do you honestly think this will help?"

Use of Hope in Miscellaneous Dingbats

The title of the book at the end of a string of miscellaneous dingbats

A story book full of short fiction stories. An interesting bedtime mystery. A fairy tale. Science fiction romance. Adult life. Uninspiring gay fiction. Horror.

A cry is heard. Barricades are formed. Battles fought. Some won. Some lost. I watch with wild abandon. My hope quickly sours. Each generation adds helpless spirits to surround me. My comrade and I move on.

– from “Shovels Fall,” an interesting story about the cycle of violence throughout history

Pfizer shuffled off to the cafeteria. "Nonsense," he thought. "Complete rubbish." For once he wasn't thinking about the food. His colleague Sara Lee came to cheer him up.

"Don't worry," Sara Lee said. "I'm sure your phosphane lions will be okay. There's nothing more important than life."

"Humanoid life," snorted Pfizer. "The only microbes the administrators care about are themselves."

The comment made Sara Lee giggle. "You're funny," she said. "You need to think about running for council. We'll never cut the defense budget if people like us don't speak out."

– from “Titan's Reign,” a science fiction story from which hope cannot emerge even when it's traveling at light speed

"What's done is done," said Orbitz Nombre Trois. "The choices I've made have led me to this."

Orbitz Número Dos shot a glance at Orbitz Number One. "I approached from the east," he said.

– from “The Death and Life of Captain Orbitz,” a science fiction romance which hopefully would make Lem proud, if you know who that is

"Congratulations," moaned Pfizer. He headed back into the lift. "Stupid wormhole jockey." Sara Lee patted his shoulder.

– from “Titan's Reign,” a science fiction story in which hope never appears even when it's traveling at light speed

Orbitz left and came back with a small box and a pole with a noose on it. The creature scurried about trying to resist. "I know what you want," said Orbitz. "You know I'm willing to get it for you. Just be a good little girl." As soon as Orbitz had her in his clutches he injected her with a seditive. The girl started rolling her head about. She brought her little hand up to wipe her little eye. Orbitz started counting the seconds.

The Body Acceptance Calendar

A really good idea for a monthly calendar

If a 45-year-old businesswoman and hard working mother of three kids is going to pose nude for a calendar, it's gonna have to be a good one. Margo didn't start a coffee shop called the Vagina Cafe to win her favors from the establishment. Even as she dishes out prizes to the 20 women who placed last in the twentienth anniversary run of her town's biggest road race, her business, unlike everyone else, doesn't get mentioned. She was an official sponsor for Christ's sake! But the announcer just couldn't swallow his patriarchy and get the words "Vagina Cafe" out of his mouth. That's not something a proper gentleman would say in front of a crowd of humble God-fearing "ladies" who cherish their modesty! And a Body Acceptance Calendar is certainly not what a humble God-fearing book-seller like a Barnes and Noble would put on their shelves! So how do I expect to sell this in the mainstream? Maybe if you download the free versions a thousand billion times it might help. Start downloading.
